Second Semester SMART Goal:
In the second semester of the 2015/2016 school year, I would like to work on finishing my work in class. In the past semester, I have maintained a 4.0 grade point average; however, this has required a lot of work out of school. Some work must be done out of school, yet there are many assignments that we are given time in class to work on. I would like to try to utilize this time more effectively and finish my work in class. My action plan for this goal includes a few steps. When I am given an assignment, I will go over it and make sure that I completely understand what I am being asked to do. If I have any questions, I will ask a teacher. I usually enjoy listening to music in class; however, if I am becoming distracted by the music, I will hold myself accountable to turning it off and focusing on my work. I will try to limit other distractions including my email, checking my grades, or surfing other websites. In order to hold myself responsible to this goal, at the end of each week I will reflect on the assignments completed. If I notice a lack of in-class work, I will recognize what caused this, and try to eliminate that factor in the upcoming week.
